Murder & Masterpieces: Volume Two

Five More Ready-to-Go Mystery Paint Party Packets

Designed specifically for paint party and creative studio owners, these commercial-use mystery packets give you the complete mystery portion of the event β€” already written, organized and ready to run alongside the painting or creative project of your choice.

Built to run during your paint party, not instead of it. These mysteries are designed to unfold in short bursts between painting segments β€” you pause the brushes, open the next envelope, read a page, and let guests dig back into the canvas while they talk it over. No separate game night, no extra room, no additional booking. The mystery and the painting happen in the same two-and-a-half-hour session, side by side.

HOW DOES A MURDER MYSTERY PAINT PARTY WORK?

You teach the painting. The mystery runs alongside it. Here's what the night looks like:

1. Guests arrive and get their character. Each guest receives a character card with their role, secrets, and what they know.

2. The host opens the mystery. Using the included host script, you introduce the story and the victim, then guests start painting.

3. Clues come out as the painting progresses. At natural breaks in your painting steps, you reveal new clues. Guests question each other, defend themselves, and swap theories while they paint.

4. Guests make their accusations. As paintings near completion, everyone uses their detective notes to name who they think did it.

5. The big reveal. You read the solution, and everyone goes home with a finished painting and a story to tell.

No acting experience needed. Guests don't memorize lines or perform scripts. The mystery is designed to be simple to follow while painting, which is also why each story is built for 10 to 12 players.

You choose the painting. Use the suggested theme or any painting you already love teaching. Everything for the mystery is ready to print: characters, clues, host script, detective notes, and timeline.

Each bundle includes:

  • 5 complete mystery storylines
  • 12 character cards per mystery
  • Clue cards
  • Host scripts
  • Detective notes
  • Printable mystery materials
  • Event timeline
  • Everything you need to run the mystery portion of your event from start to finish
  • Commercial-use rights so you can host these as paid events in your creative business

Hosting a larger group? Reach out about character expansion options for these stories.

Some mysteries include a suggested painting theme for inspiration, but you choose the actual painting or creative project you want to teach.

The character interaction is intentionally designed to be easy to manage during a creative event rather than a heavily scripted theatrical murder mystery. Guests receive character information and clues, answer questions, talk to one another, defend themselves, discuss the evidence and make their final accusation β€” all while participating in the creative project you're teaching.

πŸ‘» Death at the Haunted Hotel: The Ghost of Room 13

For twenty-three years, Room 13 has been locked. Tonight, the hotel reopens for one night only, and its owner promises to finally reveal the truth behind a hundred-year-old disappearance β€” but by midnight, he's the one who's dead.

Suggested painting theme: A candlelit hotel hallway with a mysterious locked door.

🎭 Murder at the Masquerade: The Last Dance

Every guest at tonight's masquerade has one thing in common β€” their host knows a secret about them they never wanted revealed. When the ballroom goes dark, so does he.

Suggested painting theme: A gleaming gold masquerade mask by candlelight.

βš“ Murder at the Seaside Resort: The Last Tide

A storm-battered resort reopens after five years, and its owner has promised to finally tell the truth about why it really closed. He doesn't survive the storm long enough to do it.

Suggested painting theme: A stormy pier and crashing waves at dusk.

πŸŽͺ Murder Under the Big Top: Secrets of Showtown

A close-knit community of retired circus and carnival families gathers for its annual homecoming β€” until the guest of honor is found dead in his workshop, taking a twenty-two-year-old secret down with him. Or so someone is hoping.

Suggested painting theme: A glowing circus tent beneath a starlit sky.

πŸ’ Murder at the Wedding: Till Death Do Us Part

The bride is walking down the aisle. The groom is hiding something. And the maid of honor just found the proof β€” right before she turns up dead in the conservatory.

Suggested painting theme: An elegant bouquet of white roses by candlelight.
